If you are like me, I am always looking for ways to save money or find stuff for free. I have a family of 4 with 2 small children so most of my ideas are family friendly. There are tons of things to do here that won't cost you anything.

One example, visiting one of our local parks, they have playgrounds, pavilions, basketball courts, tennis courts, and softball fields. Great for kids, or anyone who would like to play sports or even just relax under a tree and read a book. Personally for me, I enjoy watching my kids have a great time and letting them get rid of some energy.  There are also a ton of bike baths that you could go for a bike ride on, take a walk, or rollerblade on.

You could also go downtown where you could enjoy seeing the local businesses as well as the fountains and statues that are shown. Many people can be seen playing in the fountain during the summer months, its a pretty funny site! They also have some historical buildings so its nice to see the buildings preserved.

We also have the deleware river that has a boat launch, but for those of us without boats, its always fun to take a few slices of bread to feed the ducks with. You can also go fishing, Pennsylvannia actually offers 2 days that are free to fish a year, May 27 and June 4th.

One of the nearby towns, Allentown, has a fish hatchery that is free to visit, it is called Lil-Le-Hi Trout nursery. You can view the fish for free or pay a $1.00 for a bag of food to feed the fish. My 2 year old son loves it here. They are open year round so it is interesting to see it at different seasons. This is a great place for all ages and types of people.

Checkout the local newspaper or if you are visiting the hotel you are staying at, you may be able to find things that are going on locally that are free for everyone. It certainly can't hurt to ask.

Takeaways
  • Having fun doesn't have to cost anything.
  • Easton, PA is a fun place to be.
  • Always try to make the best of things.
