Alex Trebek Ends Suspense, Issues Statement About His Heart Attack, Health

Alex Trebek has finally issued a statement updating us on his condition after suffering a heart attack earlier this week. The Jeopardy! host is recovering well from a mild heart attack that many felt was close to being a fatal one. It is being reported that the host was recently released from Cedars-Sinai Hospital earlier today. He was transported to his Studio City home so that he could spend time recuperating. Doctors believe that it will only be a short period of time before the host makes his way back to hosting new episodes of Jeopardy!.

Alex Trebek suffered a heart attack early Tuesday morning. The news sent a scare amongst people around the world. Rumors circulated that the heart attack was much worse than it actually was. He suffered a mild heart attack that only affect the host for a short period of time. It was only a matter of a couple of hours before Trebek was resting comfortably at the local hospital. Trebek, real name Giorgi Suka-Alex Trebek, has been the host of Jeopardy! since 1984. It is his face that is associated by millions of people with the trivia show. Fans felt that it would of been a great loss if he has passed and showed their support towards the host during his time of healing.

It was in his statement that Trebek expressed his gratitude to all of his fans who showed concerns for his general health. He was overwhelmed by the large show of support and compassion that was expressed to him through friends, family, and coworkers. Reports indicate that it was the large show of support that helped the host recover much more quickly than once anticipated. Normal recovery time for the mild heart attack that Trebek suffered would be a little over a month. The host is letting everyone know that he will be back to taping his show as early as January 14th to tape their upcoming Teen Jeopardy! tournament. It appears that there is no stopping the host from doing so either.

Heart attacks are scary, my hubby had one back in 1996, a bad one, and to be honest I no it frightened me more than it did him!
