Product Review: Cover Girl Professional ColorMatch 4 Patette
Although I love my collection of Estee Lauder eye shadows, I just cannot resist the fantastic bargains I purchase at Walgreen's. They have baskets or shelves of products up to 75 percent off. One of the items I found was the Cover Girl Professional ColorMatch 4 Palette.
The package.
This is one of the great products that you find almost impossible to open. There is cardboard at the back of it, and then the hard plastic cover over it, to keep the package together. First I tugged with my nails, and then ended up using a pair of scissors. Once opened I really got to see the true colors in the palette.
They are Spice Islands.
Cinnamon Stick, (matte finish)
Parsley, (matte)
Ginger, (frosted)
Nutmeg, (frosted)
With the package is a double ended applicator, so by using both sides, there is no chance of getting the colors messed up. Well, probably there is because I take my glasses off, when I apply eye shadow.
I love 3 of the colors, Cinnamon for day wear, with Ginger towards my eyebrows, or Nutmeg for evening, again with the Ginger. Years ago I used to wear greens and blues.
I do my daily cleansing and moisturizing routine, then do my eye make up. I occasionally wear lipstick, but more likely a gloss or lip balm to protect my lips from the Florida sunshine. My Cover Girl eye shadow goes on easily and only takes about a minute. I normally wear it from morning until bedtime, unless we go to a function. It stays on well, and doesn't cake. I don't get a crease line on my eyelids as the day goes on.
Being lazy, if we go out in the evening, I will just cover the matte Cinnamon Stick with the frosted Nutmeg. I may perhaps apply a touch more of the Ginger, and I am all set. I do spend quite a lot of time on my hair, but very little on make up. My face is always brown, although I don't sit in the sun. Just living in Florida can do it.
Why do I like Cover Girl?
Well this product was reduced from $5.19 to $1.30. I just love a bargain. All of their products are dermatologist tested. These are described on the package as 'warm' colors. They suit my complexion, and go with my taste in clothes. Cover Girl eye shadow is extremely easy to remove with make up remover or just plain soap and water.
