I'm a very curious person, who will find out what ever it is I feel I need to know. But there are times my wants and needs get crossed and that's when I start getting myself in some deep...hmmm?... ....mess.

The story that I'm about to tell you is true. As I said before, I am a little too curious at times. I hear about something then check into it. I don't base my judgment of things by something someone has said. No, not me! I must taste, feel and smell everything that strikes my curiosity. It's my way of knowing, without a doubt, if what others are saying is true. I admit this isn't always the best way of knowing things. Sometimes, some things are better left alone.

The ouija board, for example, is one of those things I wish I had never touched. I still wake in cold sweat during vivid nightmares of a time, twelve years ago, my friends and I got too curious and sat on a bed with a ouija board in our laps. Before I go on, I should tell that this was no ordinary home that we were in. This home was believed to be haunted by the brother of the home owner and good friend of mine. As aware as I was in the dangers of the ouija board, I agreed to join in, after all, I was very curious about ouija.

I doubt any of us were taking it serious, at first. We laughed and made fun of it, but then we began to get quiet and more focused. We began to ask questions in more serious framed of mind. I remember that someone in our little group said, "hello." That is when the indicator slid gently to the letters H-E-L-L-O on the board. Our mouths dropped. We were communicating with the unseen.... the unknown.

Question after question was being answered, and we kept asking. Someone called out to my friends deceased brother. The brother came through and spoke intimately with the family. Tears were shed and emotions were strong. I never felt as sensitive as I had at that moment. But something wasn't right, and I was feeling guilty for my disloyalty to my friends and what they believed.

I enjoyed reading this very much. I, too, have experimented with divination. There is much I could say about Ouija, but this is a comment section. I think there is a negative predisposition to Ouija, which has been fostered by myth and legend. Keep writing: you're good at it.

Keli, this story is awesome ! I wanted to check out your work, as I found you in Mike's favorites. I think highly of him, so thought you'd be someone worth knowing, as well. I, too, have always tended to check things out, rather than just listen and believe whatever I was told. I was told not to mess with the Ouija, and that it opens up minds to evil spirits. It's one of the few things I didn't try. I have known many who did, though, with very similar experiences to yours. Thank you for sharing this with us. :)

I hope this story will serve as a warning to many. Exactly whom do people think they are summoning, when they toy with a Ouija board? Exactly whom are they inviting to toy with them?

Well, I wanted to say something silly about the Ouija board, but who knows. I'm, sad about your friend for you, but happy for you and your little one. Listen, who knows about this stuff; I know that God does not want us to take this stuff lightly for our own good, but like you said--- curiosity makes us want to know. Great story Keli.
