My first exposure to the Myoplex family of sports supplements from EAS came years ago, while I was using the Body for Life program by Bill Phillips to lose fifty pounds and build some muscle mass. The program was successful for me, helping me to lose every pound and get pretty cut in about four months. Both Myoplex and Body for Life have gone through some changes since then, the former has been completely reformulated and the latter came out with their own branded version of myoplex powders and bars. As a mountain biker, is Myoplex Lite a sports supplement that you should consider? Perhaps, but only under very specific conditions.

Myoplex is a powdered sports supplement that is meant to be combined with water or milk to make a high protein shake. Myoplex Lite is a lower-calorie version of the original, clocking in at 100 calories less per packet than regular Myoplex, part of this cut in calories is achieved by simply providing less in the packet; a 54 gram packet of Myoplex Lite packets are more than thirty percent lighter than the 78 gram regular Myoplex packets. Both Myoplex and Myoplex Lite are high in protein, and primarily intended for body builders and those looking to build or sustain a whole lot of muscle mass. If your training regimen includes riding and some strength training, Myoplex might help you reach your goals more easily.

Myoplex Lite comes in small, portable packets, making them easy to carry with you in nearly any conditions. The product comes in the classic flavors or vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry, and I was surprised to find that none of these flavors are particularly chalky - something I used to notice witht eh vanilla before the product was reworked. They're tastier when mixed with skim milk, but very palatable when made with water alone, as well. One suggested use is as a meal-replacement, and when you'll be spending hours or even days biking in the back-country, this is a great way to replenish lost calories with little bulk.
