I'm agnostic. http://humanum.arts.cuhk.edu.hk/humftp/E-text/Russell/agnostic.htm - An agnostic thinks it impossible or at least impossible at the present time to know the truth in matters such as God and the future life with which Christianity and other religions are concerned.

I believe that we are not alone in this universe. I believe there is something out there. It is only logical that there is something out there. We have questions and there ARE answers for them but we are incapable of getting these answers at this time.

I do not believe in God or an after life because these are just assumptions. It is blind faith. Assumption is the mother of all f#@% ups! I do not like to assume. I like to think logically. And it's only logic that there is something out besides us but we do not know what it is at this time.

If only people were open minded and thought with their brains logically and didn't follow blind faith then maybe this world would be a little better place.

The fact that you asked is evident that he does.

I would think that the most important question should be: Who is your God? Everybody live for something, if is not for "a God" it is going to be for money, for career, for yourself, for pleasure. Something to justify your existence. Who do you live for? Who is the "lord of your life"? What or who do you love the most? A person, a philosophy, a theory, a place, a serious of moral standarts? That is the "thing" you adore. Now, is it worthy of your "adoration" or "time"? Are you ever going to reach the fulness of what you are living for? What if that "thing" disappoints you? Jesus is the only Lord you can live for who died for you - who breathed his last breath for you. It is only grace that frees us from the slavery of self that lunks even in the middle of morality and religion. If Jesus is your center and Lord and you fail him, he will forgive you.

Jeff....Blind faith is acceptance of something with no evidence. The believer has what he perceives as evidence in the form of personal revelation. In research terms it would be called anecdotal evidence. I'm not saying its solid, or scientific. But accepting something as reality based on a personal experience is not "blind faith."

Anthony...be an apologist all you want, but to the thinking person (and the truly honest of the religious) it is indeed "blind faith." As to the first comment, religion hasn't provided an "explanation" of anything...it has provided a mythology, but nothing more. Of course there is more to the universe. It is not confined to one pitiful, jealous, and maniac of a "god" presiding over the lives of one species on one tiny planet.

Belief in God is not blind faith. People who truly believe in God do so because at some point they had a moment of personal revelation: that is, that they believe God "revealed" him/her/itself to them. Agree or disagree that this is what actually happened, it is what they believe. This is not "blind faith."

Jessica- I am a Christian partially because I was born into a Christian family but mainly because of the comfort I receive by knowing God. I also see your view about logical thinking. But since no one has a logical explanation as to the creation of life and life after death, religion has provided this explanation. One thing that helped me confirm my faith is the fact that I would rather not take the chance of going to hell when I could spend eternity in Heaven with my savior and father. I'm truly not trying to be judgemental in any way, I'm just attempting to take any opportunity to share with you how I feel on the matter. If one comment I left could change your life, I would rather risk offending you than not saying anything at all. Despite your disbelief in God, God still believes in you and so do I. I hope that one day you come to know Him :)
