Everyone makes mistakes from time to time. But, when it's at the holidays, those mistakes are much easier for everyone to remember. Whether you misspell something in Christmas lights or undercook the turkey, your family will never let you live it down. So, let's take a look at some of the more common mistakes people make at Christmas.

10 Mistakes People Make at Christmas #10: Use Too Many Lights

It seems as though so people like to go overboard when it comes to their holiday decorations. Don't make the mistake of doing this. Some people have even been known to melt their power lines by using too many Christmas lights. At the very least your house will forever be referred to as the "Griswold" House.

10 Mistakes People Make at Christmas #9: Make Many Misspellings

In this day and time, people are allergic to so many different foods. Before preparing Christmas candy and meals, be sure to check to see if any of your guests have allergies. Also check to see if anyone is a diabetic. No one wants to make this mistake and have their guests get sick.

10 Mistakes People Make at Christmas #6: Over Indulge

This is a mistake that several people make at Christmas. Instead of going back for that third or fourth serving, why not take a break? Go spend some time helping the kids put together toys or just take a walk. Your body will thank you.

I'll never forget the time my husband bought me a 2x nightgown because it was the last size they had in the style he liked. I had recently had our 3rd baby as was wearing a size 10 and uncomfortable about. He said he just thought it would be more comfortable for me...I threw it at him and left the room in tears while all the other women quickly filled him in on his HUG boo-boo! Anwho!! Great article!

I agree; it seems that Christmas has just become this "commercial juggernaut" for companies. It's become the "gimme gimme" holiday. The real meaning of Christmas has been lost, and that's sad.

The reason why we celebrate this time of year is the end of the long nights and beginning of the day lengthening ;)

Good read Amy. My most imfamous mistakes don't really revolve around Christmas, but I've been cooking a meal and forgot to turn the oven on (don't ask), and washed clothes for a month with just fabric softener... How did I make a 4.0 in undergrad? lol
