These days we all cannot ever be too careful and cautious wherever we may go day to day.

Everyday when you turn on your television you hear about an assault on some innocent person. Being a woman and not knowing the first thing to do to protect myself if I was ever attacked, I asked myself this question. Do I want to end up being a victim of a violent attack of some kind and the answer was no. I thought about the way the whole wide world is these days and I know it is far more dangerous out there now more than ever, especially for women. According to a survey conducted by the Bureau of National Statistics and the Department of Justice, every two and a half minutes a sexual assault occurs somewhere in the United States and the survey also says that one out of every six women here in the United States becomes a victim of sexual assault. That is frightening statistics for anyone to know. When I read these findings for myself, I knew then that I would do everything possible to help keep myself from becoming a victim of any type of crime whether it would be a sexual crime or robbery.
