Although my daughter has had many versions of stuffed Pooh bears, there has only been one that has remained her favorite to this day. Now at 4 years of age, Haleigh is more into the Pooh movies more than the stuffed dolls or Pooh building blocks she used to love. However, she still sleeps and holds an attachment to her Classic Pooh Plush that was given as a gift over 3 years ago. Pooh was purchased at Babies R Us for $31.99.

Classic Pooh Plush

Classic Pooh Plush is the original Pooh look created back in the 1920s before Disney brought Pooh and friends on board. Unlike the Pooh most children know today, this Pooh's eyes are small, brown, and sewn on with thread (sewn on extremely well and will not come loose). Pooh doesn't have much of a smile. In fact he doesn't even have a mouth, and looks somber compared to the updated Pooh. The popular red Pooh t-shirt is gone and a light red coat/vest is his only source of clothing. Pooh is extremely soft and cuddly. He is made of 100% plush polyester and comes in a cream honey color. His body has the feel of a real Pooh bear with soft knob like material all over his body. Pooh can easily have his arms and legs moved to a sitting position or lying position. One thing that seems to stand the test of time is Pooh's round little pot belly. The pot belly protrudes out, showing even back then, Pooh was still having his fill of pots of honey.

Classic Plush Pooh is a sturdy little guy that can be machine washed if needed on gentle cycle. We have only had to machine wash him a few times, and yet he came out just as soft as he was when originally purchased. He was dried on low heat and didn't lose any of his color. In fact, three years later Pooh is still soft, cuddly, and the same original colors.

I love the "Original" Pooh Bear more than the updated and Modern one that is being viewed among the public and young children. I think that the original Pooh Bear is more cuter and is more necessary for a baby and a child.
