Over this past weekend in New England a storm swept across the land that was a force to be reckoned with. Many areas are still feeling the devastating effect days after the storm has passed. Just walking outside of your home is an adventure in itself. With snow reaching far above your knees merely walking to you car can consume all of your energy. Then begins the endless cleaning of the car.
Wiping mountains of snow off of you car all the while still trying to defrost the ice from underneath. Many residents including myself disregard the ice scrapers and use brooms to clean off their cars. Once you car is ready to go you now have to conquer the massive mound of snow that plows always seem to box your car in worse than humanely possible.
If you succeed in getting your car out of your parking spot your next endeavor is the slippery, icy, and still snow covered roads that will lead you to the main roads, which you hope, the plows have touched already. In most cases, they have not and you try to steer your car the best you can, while the entire time you are promising yourself that you will buy better snow tires next year. The car accidents are endless.
In what normally would take me ten minutes to drive took well over three hours and during our journey we saw one car that had hit a patch of ice wrong and went into a ditch and then another few minutes down the road we encountered a snow plow that had tipped on its side. Typical scenery for a New England winter.
