Valentine's Mirror Craft: Heart Light and Mirror Frame
This Valentine's Heart mirror frame is a fun and simple way to redecorate a mirror for Valentine's Day. If you love simple wood building projects, then try transforming an existing bathroom mirror with this fun heart shaped lit frame.
Tip: If you are not in to wood working craft you can make this heart shaped frame with large sheets of foam core board, but it
will not be as long lasting.
To Make This Valentine's Heart Frame You Will Need:
Christmas light
Plywood
Jig Saw
2X4's
L brackets
Screws
Go ahead and measure how wide and tall your bathroom mirror is. Cut out yoru sheet of plywood to this size.
Take your 2X4's and cut each on out to match the sides of the mirror as well, like you are building g a frame.
Now, trace out a heart in the center of the plywood. Work close to the edges, but still leave a nice side frame.
Drill a hole in the middle of the heart, insert the jigsaw blade in the hole and cut out the heart. Use sand paper to get rid of any splinters on the edge.
Lay the heart board face down on a work surface. Play the 2X4's on the sides and nail them into place on the back of the board.
Drill a 1 inch hole in the bottom of the 2X4 frame on the side closest to your electrical outlet.
Prime the entire heart frame out with a good primer. Once dry paint out in any color you wish.
When the paint dries you want to run a string of Christmas lights inside the heart. Staple in place with a staple gun.
Run the cord out the hole in the bottom of the board that you already drilled.
On the top of the frame install 2 L brackets with screws, one on each side.
Place the heart shaped mirror over yoru existing bathroom mirror. Line the L bracket holes on the wall. Mark the holes and pre drill them into the wall.
Replace the mirror and screw into place.
Tip: If you do not want to drill into your wall, then try making this out of the foam core board. It can be adhered to the wall with adhesive Velcro. You can also lean this on the wall if you make it tall enough.
Simply use the distance from your counter to the mirror. Add this onto the bottom, but do not cut the heart out any lower than the mirror.
