Unique Wedding Proposal Idea: Garden Stepping Stone Proposal
To Make These Wedding Proposal Stepping Stones You Will Need:
Letter Molds
Cement
River Rocks
Cement Stain
Bucket
Water
Trowel
Check out your local craft store for plastic letter molds. These come in all shapes and sizes. They are clear plastic in the shape of letters. They can be bought in the clay, plaster, and mold making aisle.
Now, of course you wan to buy one letter for each of the "Will You Marry Me?" Mix up some easy mix cement. There are many kinds of cement on the market, so look for the words fast drying and easy pour.
Once your cement is mixed you can go ahead pour some into each of the molds for the marriage proposal. Fill about 2/3s of the way and make sure they are level.
Now, while the cement is wet you want to add the river rocks on top. Gently press them onto the top of each letter covering the cement.
Tips: If you want you can add cement stain to the cement while it is wet. This will color the cement throughout and then darken as it dries. You can also paint on cement stain when the cement is already dry.
In the case of the latter do not use the rocks. Use glass tiles from the craft store. The will coordinate with the cement color better.
Now, on to create the path. Imply lay out your stepping stones in a path along the way to the garden or in the garden.
Trace around each letter with a shovel. Dig out the grass and dirt for each letter.
Fill the hole with sand and then press the letter stepping stone into place!
This is such a fun idea!
Tips: Be sure to use this wedding proposal idea in a well lit area if you are proposing at night. You need to be able to see the stones.
If you do not own a yard ten try this out at the beach. The letters can be rested on the sand. Have a friend watch over the wedding proposal steppingstones while you are on your way. They can hide as you walk up! Of course one day you will have to have a yard so they can again be displayed for all to see while they listen to how your became engaged!
