DNA Archive is going to offer a product that will allow you to store your DNA safely in your home. The company has created a way for an individual to take a blood sample of their own blood and have a way to store it.

DNA Archive has conducted several studies and feels that there is a large enough segment of consumers out there who would like to hold onto a sample of their own DNA. A special process had to be developed in order to provide a service that will ensure your DNA never goes bad. It is because of the weirdness factor of this product that I conducted some research in order to provide you with a review on how the service will work for you.

A quick look at the entire process is enough to make you wonder about the legitimacy of the process. DNA Archive advertises the product as the ability to store DNA in the safety and privacy of your own home. All you have to do is take out the special swab that they have included in the package. You will then need to take a swab full of double helices. What you will have to do next is where my own questions come into play. You will have to mail off your cheek swab back to the company for further processing. The company will use SampleMatrix technology and re-deliver the DNA back to you.

The SampleMatrix technology consists of "shrink-wrapping" your DNA sample before it is sent back to you. If you ever want to reconstitute the DNA, all you have to do is add a few drops of water. The water will ignite a chemical response and make it so that your DNA comes "back to life." Each kit allows you to take three samples of your blood and send it in. The bad part about the whole thing is that it will cost you $175. That is a pretty steep price to pay to have your DNA stored away. I guess those who wish to have it done in the first place will not mind paying the high price for the unique service.
