I have known many people in my life that were blessed with a stunning talent... they were artists. An artist can be a person that can sketch cartoon creations, capture real life, paint, or other wise create masterpieces by ability and honing their gift. So, for their interest and desire in this craft I have designed this article to allow them to take the necessary steps in the hopes of making this hobby a career.

A Career in Art: What you need to know...

As I mentioned before there are many aspects in the career field of art. Sometimes it can be difficult for a person to know where they stand in the vast ocean of possibilities. So, to help you understand your talent a little better I have summarized the titles and what is expected of that artist.

Graphic Arts: Many of the talented individuals in this field choose right off the bat to be a freelance artist or a company professional. The artists in this particular field get to use technology to create wonderful images for clients. The graphic arts career is booming and because we live in a techno-tool world there are always careers popping up for this art area. Just some of the work under this label include: graphic designers, illustrators, cartoonists, scientific/medical images, fashion, storyboards, etc.

Fine Arts: Usually this depicts an area in art that covers many bases such as: painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers, and the like. Generally a degree is achieved to break into this career but it is not always necessary. There are those individuals that break the mold and their portfolios reflect their ability prominently.

A Career in Art: Job Options for Artists of All Levels

Let's face it we all want to have our dream job right? Well, if you have a talent and a head for art then your need to explore the options available to you that can turn this God given gift into a full time career. The career choices below range from educated knowledge to raw aptitude. Find where you might fit in and research what career you could have.

My youngest is in her third year of school for graphic arts. She is a natural at art, and loves it. Not only is she an awesome cartoonist, she has learned how to do web layouts and she has really honed her computer skills all the way around.
