The Biggest Loser Crowns a Winner and Gears Up for a New Season

The Biggest Loser, a reality television show on NBC that transforms extremely overweight individuals into healthy, normal weight people in a matter of months, just had their finale show in December 2007. On January 1^st, 2008, just in time for New Year's resolutions, the next season of The Biggest Loser begins again. This time there is a twist: the biggest losers will compete as couples. The Biggest Loser Couples edition will premier on NBC, Tuesday, January 1^st at 8:00 PM with a 2 hour season premiere episode.

The couples featured on The Biggest Loser Couples aren't necessarily romantic couples. While there are some husband and wife pairs competing on the show, there are also other types of couples including parent and child, siblings, and best friends. One of the teams featured will be made up of two strangers who have never even met before the The Biggest Loser show starts.

Allison Sweeny of Days of Our Lives soap opera fame will again host The Biggest Loser. The Biggest Loser Couples will be working under the supervision of trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels.

The Biggest Loser Couples is sure to have a huge following just as this year's Biggest Loser season enjoyed. Viewers of this year's The Biggest Loser were able to watch twin brothers Bill and Jim literally lose half of their bodies. Jim took home the $100,000 prize for losing the most weight after having been voted off of The Biggest Loser (186 pounds) while Bill won the big $250,000 prize by losing 164 pounds and being part of the final four contestants remaining.

The Biggest Loser Couples hopes to encourage and motivate more people to be a part of The Biggest Loser weight loss craze at home.
