Associated Content is a great place for budding and seasoned writers to express their opinions and be heard. You can write on topics that Associated Content is seeking, or you can write about something you're interested in that you want the world to know about. Any way you look at it, it's a win-win situation.

Here are my picks for the top ten Associated Content Articles of 2007 and why...

1.Why Atheists Need A Voice, by Jack Oceano. Why do I like this article? The article inspired great debate, just from the comments it received from other Content Producers. Any article that inspires debate is good, because it makes us think and rethink our own values. It forces us to look more heavily into why we made a decision that we did on a certain subject, question ourselves, and either strengthen our original belief or maybe even change our minds.

This article is very timely, as it wil give people something to think about when voting for the next President of the United States. Do we really want Mike Huckabee to run the country with his views on religion and how it will affect the decisions he makes? Or do we want a more liberal President, who will be able to see alternative viewpoints when looking at issues.

The article also, to me, states the real truth about the state of our nation. I believe that we need to see alternative viewpoints to be able to get a clearer picture of what is really going on. If we continue to be closed and focused only on the religious aspect of the truth, we turn a blind eye on what we could discover. For example, if no one ever questioned the original proposition that the earth was flat, our entire realities would be different today.

2.How to Start a Writing Career when You Are Homeless on Associated Content, by Kevin Barbieux. I like this article because Kevin decided to write, and have his dreams come true instead of getting a better paying job at McDonald's. This shows us that sometimes, to aspire to greatness, it takes sacrifice. Interestingly enough, the article is very well written for someone who says he barely made it through school, especially English.

Do you know whether or not there are any Presidential Candidates registered for the 2008 Presidential Election who are atheists? If not, what does this tell you?

Alyce Rocco usually tells it how it is, which is refreshing. If anything you should have picked one of her articles because she is real and straight up with her work. She makes some interesting points; if you are making a good living somewhere else you tend to forget about AC. Associated Content found me some work though, I messed that up but I believe that it will find me some again when the time is right. In the meanwhile the pay isn't bad and you couldn't pay for the exposure. I could write a lot more though; I can see a lot of people are making a career out of it because they have like 10 articles a day, and 2 million page views. Most of the articles are how tos or what ifs.

Kevin Barieux has been writing online since 1998~it is called blogging. He quit AC as soon as he began his career here. That is sad. I read his blog all the time and he consistently writes articles there, that could be earning him spare change here. Perhaps he is one of those lucky few that are natural born writers because even his early blog posts were easy to read. I doubt that I could pick out the Top Ten articles I have read here at AC. I have read some you mentioned and they are good choices.

I think #6 is especially good. ;-) Of my 2007 articles though, my favorite is "History of the United States in 2500 Words or Less." http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/183950/history_of_the_united_states_us_in.html

Thanks for the mention, Christi. I am hopeful that our nation will progress, and eventually embrace reason and science in lieu of myth, superstition and belief in the supernatural.
