Are you traveling during the holidays? Are you worried about your prescription medication? Whether you will be able to fill it before you leave on vacation? How long will it take for you to get your prescriptions? Is it even worth the wait? Here are the answers you are looking for and a guide towards pharmacies and getting your medication easily and getting out quickly during this holiday season.

After the mall pharmacies are the most dreaded area to travel to during the holidays. The line and the wait lead to more stress and about fifty percent of the time they do not have the medication that you need or you are refilling your prescription too soon. You are only informed this after you wait for about an hour though. Traveling from pharmacy to pharmacy wastes not only valuable time but money and gas as well. Not to mention the added stress you feel accompanied by the aggravation after not receiving your prescriptions.

Pharmacies and insurance companies are hard to deal with especially arguing with them to fill your prescription early. In case you did not even know that you could do that, here is the secret behind that. Pharmacist and pharmacy technicians are given codes by insurance companies that they can input for a lost prescription or for an override if you are going out of town on vacation. All it takes is a simple phone call to the insurance company that normally lasts under fifteen minutes and they can get your prescriptions authorized and paid for.

A little tip when you are dropping your prescriptions off, mention to the pharmacist or technician that you are going out of town and that is why you are refilling your prescription early. It is a lot less aggravating for them if you tell them off the back instead of having to go through the entire process only to have it denied. Another hint, if you do not tell them that you are leaving town, they will just keep your refill denied. They will not even contact the insurance company. There is no need for them too. On the other hand, if you simply explain your situation they will be sympathetic towards your needs and try to help you in the best way that they can.
