TRAPPED

When I first started I loved it
the respect, the praise, the enjoyment
helping other people
the public
couple years and thats it
I'll go to law school
be a lawyer.

Then came the promotion
I do other peoples jobs
even my bosses
but they pay dont change
it remains the same
not enough.

I see corrupt lawyers and judges
they should wear orange jumpsuits
but they don't
they live without worry
in a place full of worries

random thoughts I know
but this is what I see
so long law school
I cannot be like that

3 years in
I still like my job
no increase of pay
less vacation days
more aggravation
more work
more restriction
did i mention the same pay

sounds like Im complaining
I am
Why dont I quit?
being comfortable
thats me
pension they will probably steal
benefits they slowly take away
and the pay
the same

maybe a new town or new job will cure me
I get ready to make the move
but wait.....
Im confused
Im scared
Im comfortable

My hands are chained
my legs are chained
my mouth is taped shut
or so it feels like it
im trapped

5 years in
I hate my job!
