Coming up this weekend in Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas, there are quite a few exciting options to choose from if you don't want to stay at home. You can choose from family events, activities geared towards children, or more grown up activities. Below is information broken down into categories.

Sports

UNCC vs. Gardner Webb on Saturday December 22nd at 2pm - Tickets are $12 to $16. The game will be played in Barnhardt Student Activity Center, Halton Arena

Carolina Panthers vs. Dallas on Saturday December 22nd at 8:15pm - Tickets are $36 to $380. The game will be played at Bank of America Stadium.

Plays and Other Stage Performances

The Santaland Diaries on Saturday December 22nd at 8pm - Tickets are $20. The performance is located at the Actor's Theater of Charlotte - 650 East Stonewall Street. This will be the last performance for this production.

The Nutcracker on December 22nd and December 23rd at 2pm and 7:30pm - Tickets are $20 to $69. The performance is located at Belk Theater - 130 North Tryon Street. These are the last two days of the performance.

Comedian Charlie Viracola on Saturday December 22nd at 8pm and 10:15pm - Tickets are $15. The performances are at The Comedy Zone in Matthews, NC - 11329 East Independence Blvd.

Children's Activities

Breakfast with Santa on Saturday December 22nd at 10am - A fee is not listed, and registration is required. You can call 704-895-8178 for information. The event will be at North County Regional Library in Huntersville, NC - 16500 Holly Crest Lane. The event will include stories and songs along with breakfast. All ages welcome.

Arts and Crafts Activities

Origami on Saturday December 22nd at 3pm - Call 704-973-2720 for more information. The event will be at ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center in Charlotte, NC - 300 East Seventh Street. It is for elementary age children.

Concerts

Leonard Bearstein Symphony Orchestra on December 22nd and 23rd every hour starting at 8am through 6pm. All performances are free to the public. The event is located at Founders Hall in Charlotte, NC - 100 North Tryon Street.

Very good information - my parents live in NC ( I live in Thailand) and when I visit we often go to Charlotte - nice city!
