It seems to me that charity is not doing anything for the poor other than giving them a dependency on charity. Allowing them to stay in poverty and allowing us to feel better about ourselves for helping them stay there.

This should not be allowed says a man named Bob Proctor (Starring in The Secret). Instead of helping them stay in their current state. We should be teaching them how to get out of it. We should be teaching them about prosperity.

The more you think about poverty, the more poverty will be given to you. If you take poverty out of your mind and focus on Abundant living for all, then poverty will start to disappear and Abundant living for all will start to show itself.

If someone ever asked the question "what have you done about poverty?" Do you want to tell them that you donate a lot of your hard earned money to help keep people in it? Or do you want to proudly say "I taught a poor person about prosperity and he is no longer poor."

Anyone can be rich. It's a mindset. Anyone can be poor. It's also a mindset. The fact is that the poor are poor because they strive towards being poor. They don't believe they can be rich and don't strive towards being rich. What needs to happen is not more charity. That would just lead to them wanting more charity. Instead we should be:

Teaching them of prosperity, so they don't think of poverty. Teaching them of abundance, so they don't think of lack. Teaching them of love, so they don't think of sadness. Teaching them of Energy, so they can think about something new. Teaching them of life, so they can get back into it. Teaching them of opulence, for opulence sake. Teaching them of anything and everything good. That is what must be done.

You are the creator of your own life. Everything in it is a result of what you believe it to be. So to "be realistic" of the fac that you are poor is just going to create a life in which you are going to be poor. Uou will not go anywhere in life if you do not first believe you will get there.

Good article. But i would have to disagree with Bob Proctor. It's important to be realistic and not just think about your current condition.
