Hayden Leslie Panettiere, to be exact, was born on August 21, 1989 in Palisades, New York to parents Lesley and Alan. Brother Jansen rounds out the Panettiere Family. Hayden's father works for the fire department. Her mother is a former soap opera actress who started her daughter modeling when she was eight months old. The Early Days
Hayden hadn't celebrated her fifth birthday yet when she won the part of "Sarah Roberts" on ABC's award-winning soap opera, "One Life to Live". By the time her seventh birthday rolled around, Hayden was cast as "Lizzie Spaulding" on CBS's daytime soap, "Guiding Light." A little known fact about Hayden Panettiere is, the show won an award from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society for her portrayal of "Lizzie", a girl who was battling Leukemia. The society honored "Guiding Light" for bringing this disease to the attention of the viewing public.

Her Later Career
Besides playing the role of "Claire" in "Heroes", some of Hayden Panettiere's work has included acting in Racing Stripes (2005), Normal (TV-2003), Remember the Titans (2000) and Joe Somebody (2001). The five-foot-one-inch actor also loaned her voice to A Bug's Life (1998). Personal Life
Hayden Panettiere, or "Hayd" as she is called by her friends, still lives in New York with her family. She went to South Orangetown Middle School up until the seventh grade, then graduated from high school by being home schooled. Hayden plans on attending college some day.
