What's new?
The Audi TT turned heads when it was first introduced 1998. It has notably been plagued with problems since it first came out. That was phase one of the Audi TT. Phase 2 begins with the 2008 model. The 2008 Audi TT Coupe has been out in the dealer showrooms since Spring 2007. So what's new with the Audi TT this year? The whole front end has been redesigned with larger wheel wells to accommodate the larger wheels. Wheel sizes can run from 16 inch to 19 inch depending on the models. New pivoting headlamps that can light up curves are optional. The frame is a combination of steel and aluminum and the body's shell is 2/3 aluminum. Of course there is an optional navigation system but almost all auto manufacturers have them in their cars nowadays.

The Look
The most noticeable difference is the look. The Audi TT 2008 model has a huge front end. It almost looks like it is all engine. The front end is not the sleek type we would expect from a sports type car like a Corvette but it is bulky and oversize, more of the old Edsel look. I don't know if this car should promoted as the sporty type as the advertising all points to or a luxury sedan just for mom and dad without the kids.

Performance
The 2 liter model accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds, the V6 does it in 5.7 seconds. Which is great if you are into racing. Let's face facts how often are you going to use that acceleration without learning how to control this or any car under such high acceleration rates? Since I have not driven the Audi TT first hand I looked up the high performance reviews in magazines such as Motor Trend. Again and again the same story was told - the car performed fantastic on the straight roads but bogged down in the curves. The problem they noted most was the huge weighty front end of the vehicle. They mentioned that the front wheels would squeal when pushed to it's speed limits. Couple that with front wheel drive and you lack the performance of many other cars that are lower priced on the market today.

Lousy article. Check your acceleration times. They are both wrong. Reading this was thirty seconds of my life I will never get back. Written as if the car was reviewed by a junior high school student. Don't quit your other job, assuming you have one. What would you (meaning the author) recommend? maybe a Saturn?

Guys above.... Firstly, you are being extremely defensive. Second, would it make a difference if you had first clicked on the Jan S URL and found out that Jan is indeed a woman! That would explain it all, surely. :-) PS. It's a silly review, all that stuff about kids, family, back seat and shopping, but then again... now we know why don't we.

After reading this review, I would like to take this opportunity to comment on the author's books on equestrian sports. I can do this because I have seen a horse, I have sat on a horse, and I know what goes into one end of a horse and comes out the other. What comes out the other end is pretty much what this review of the TT is about...but I digress. Jan S. knows nothing about horses. Although I have not read his books and do not know what they are about, if they are about horses, then they are incoherent drivel. The horses he writes about have eyes that swivel so they can see around curves, but unfortunately, they are very heavy at the front (because of the big head) which makes them bog down in curves. Most horses cannot seat more than two people in a single row. Because of this, both Jan S. and I are in agreement that horse are not suitable for families. Hey Jan! Stick to what you know. Horsesh*t!

I can only think that the reviewer is a cretin. Lets be clear on the definition of cretin shall we. Cretinism is a condition of severely stunted physical and mental growth due to untreated congenital deficiency of thyroid hormones (hypothyroidism). The term cretin refers to a person so affected and is no longer considered to be politically correct nomenclature. I hope I never have to experience a review of yours again, give it up, pathetic.

Dear sir, Your totally hamfisted review of this car leaves me to believe you have not only not driven the marque, but, also never seen it either. I put it to you sir, how could you possibly review a car you have neither seen nor driven? I put it to you sir, that you are a moron of the worst kind, a pseudo intellectual that could'nt make it at one of the decent educational establishments in your country. Stamford? I think not. M.I.T.? Definitely not. Mc Donalds UNiversity? A great possibilty. Sir, may i suggest you review cars no more, and stick to buggering your sister on long dark evenings? Maybe go to a dark bar and find yourself a man? You sir are a f*ckwit. A nonce. A sock swapper. A mockery of the human race. DUO3 NAN. p.s. Please, feel free to relinquish yourself of your mortal coil. p.p.s. Have a nice day.

Is this for real? Funniest thing I've read all year. Car "review"?? What would you guys know about car handling? You still think leaf-springs are high tech and 300hp from 6+ litres is an achievement!!!
