All Clad 12 Quart Stainless Steel Multi Cooker with Steamer Basket: Review
I have a good assortment of the All Clad range of vessels stacked in my kitchen that are not only good looking but also perform exceedingly well. The All Clad utensils are alway
s a value addition that facilitates easy cooking for moth novice as well as the expert cooks. I wanted to buy a large sized multi cooker that can really take more volume and is capacious enough to serve a large gathering for festive occasion. Obviously All Clad was my first stop and I found that it comes with the 12 Quart Stainless Steel Multi Cooker with Steamer Basket.
This was what I was exactly looking for and it also comes with steamer basket, pasta basket and the lid. Strangely this was not as expensive as other All Clad vessels and I found out that this metal is different from the original All Clad that I am used to. Though I was skeptical about the quality of this new All Clad metal, this is as genuine as the old and is definitely worth buying. I use this for steaming pasta, clams, mussels, corn and is not suitable for lobster bake. Just like any other All Clad utensil make sure that you do not use it at extreme temperature to preserve the coating and the sheen.
This is basically made of aluminum but the stainless steel exterior gives it not only classic look but also is functional. To ensure superior performance and efficiency, high quality solid aluminum sheets are sandwiched between two first grade stainless steel sheets and then molded into the multi cooker. I thought only the bottom is made of aluminum and later realized that the entire cooker is constructed of aluminum and steel to conduct heat uniformly. This gets heated up quickly and the preparation time is less.
