Wednesday February 7th is not a day to get stuck in traffic. Mark that date. LOST returns. The debut of the new season 4 of LOST was met with excitement and some disappointment by fans, as a lot of the material in the trailer was recap of the last few episodes of Season 3's key plot points.

LOST fans went nuts this week chasing down clues about what the newly released LOST trailer revealed and hinted at. Right now in Hollywood, ABC producers of LOST, Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof, are some of the most visible supporters of the Writer's Strike. So even the promised full run season will only be 8 episodes.

But LOST was not nominated for a Golden Globe award, which confirmed the anxieties of fans and critics about the Season 3 overall quality and consistency. LOST fans have been biting their nails since late May of 2007 for the 2007-2008 televisions season premiere of LOST. The trailer whetted the appetites and speculations of fans around the globe.

1. Is Charlie really dead?

At the end of Season 3, Charlie perished in the underwater explosion of the Looking Glass station. Or did he? Many other characters have come from the dead to haunt or signal other living members of the LOST Oceanic Flight 815 community of survivors.

Charlie's tie to the baby Aaron, and the probability of Claire's psychic powers makes Charlie a link to the extra normal possibilities of this happening. Also, Charlie himself has experienced weird hallucinogenic dreams. His psychological link to both the island and Claire and the baby are very strong.

Fan speculation raises the issue that Charlie Pace might have swam out the window of the Looking Glass station before the explosion. Dominic Monaghan, who plays Charlie on LOST, is small enough to have starred in the Lord of the Rings movies as a Hobbit. Analysts show Charlie in a "negative" effect shot in the LOST trailer. So he might be somewhat "alive".

Takeaways
  • Is Walt alive? Can other people besides Locke see him?
  • The WGA strike now will be followed by a SAG actor's strike coming up.
  • LOST fans will only get half of an entire season after over 6 months wait.
Did You Know?
The producers of LOST are WGA strike mavericks Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof.
