Thoughts Begin to Decompose Almost Immediately

The road from the mind
To the paper and the pen
Is full of pot holes.

Navigate with care-
With urgent haste and mission,
Lest the thought be lost.

Lost in Translation : a Pair of Haikus

The longer you wait, the less likely the original though will survive the transitional path to paper.

Can't tell you how many times I've travelled this road. So true.

I get these "pot holes" often! A good traffic sign for all writers out there. :D

How true how true; I can't tell you how many times I've had this happen---great ideas just seem to evaporate into thin air: gone forever. And anything we manage to come up with later seems to fall short of the original---a carbon copy with a lot of faded lines. The same holds true for the guitar (as I believe you know) when you stumble across something great---you better record it, cause if you don't what you come up with later is sure to be different. *****
