Have you ever been to a Super Bowl party that is, well, just boring? The one that you just watch the game, analyze during half time and go home when the game is over? Not much fun, right? If you follow my tips and ideas, you will be throwing the best Super Bowl party your friends have ever been to!

The Food

You need to decide what type of food to serve during the game. Do you want hand-held appetizers? Do you plan on grilling steaks or shish-kabobs on the barbecue grill? I prefer a smorgasbord of food served at my parties, and here is why. You can never please everybody if you only serve a couple of items. By serving little wieners in BBQ sauce, a party sub, pizza, nachos, chips and chili cheese dip, taco salad and steak, you are pleasing everybody's palate.

The Drinks

Besides the usual serving of beer at your Super Bowl party, you need to provide beverages for those who don't drink beer. Some options are wine coolers, mixed drinks and soda. Make sure all the drinks are chilled before your party is to begin! Also, be cautious if one of your guests has had too many drinks. Take the car keys from each guest as they arrive at your party and give them to the designated driver. If there is no designated driver, plan on having your guests crash at your place until they are sober enough to drive.

The Games

You want to have some fun games to play throughout your Super Bowl party, too. One of my favorite games is the cup game. The only thing you need is a plastic cup and some money to play this game. The first person to hold the cup comes up with a Super Bowl-related term or action, such as a touchdown. Each person at the party will throw a buck in the cup and start passing the cup around. When a touchdown is scored, whoever is holding the cup wins the money in it. You then reset the cup, with a new action or word, and collect money again. Keep passing the cup around until the next word or action is said or done, and that person will win the money. It's a fun way to earn money while watching the Super Bowl!
