Mother Africa Has Given The U.S. A Lot

Africa has given America more than we are aware of. From science to music, from history to economics, we Americans really don't know $#it, when it comes to Africa that is. In fact, the westernized, "modern" world has been calling Africa the "Dark continent" for a long time, but it turns out that was just a reflection of their own ignorance of the history that the whole of humanity shares with the African continent. Africa prior to 1400's was one of the richest continents in the world. Sadly, being viewed as so rich in the eyes of the "modernized" world, the world of the enlightenment and home to certain documents that promise certain unalienable right to "men," and all that fine mess, it attracted the greediest and most materialistic peoples who have plundered and raped its lands for their own personal gain (Anthony). Truth be told, Africa is as rich if not richer than the "modern" world, but the distribution of wealth, education, political power and natural resources have been concentrated in the hands of a few (Anthony). Despite this, Africa still has much to offer, and its most important gift to us is not only that of economic gain, but its wealth of cultural, archaeological and historical treasures.
