Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 character Jaime Lynn Spears has finally awakened America from their stupor of ignorance. She has sparked so much of an outcry that she has the media and parents shouting and running around in circles with their children trailing behind.

What is the new phenomenon all about? No it isn't the second coming of Christ, though you would think that it was, but instead Innocent White Girl Syndrome.

Yes ladies and gentlemen, it seems that his little girl has deviated from the norm of what a pretty little white girl is suppose to be. Protect your teens because if it can happen to little white girl Jaime, it can happen to anyone. The syndrome is driving everyone wild.

The reveal of Miss Spears's pregnancy has dominated newspapers, magazines and even our nightly news broadcasts to report this newly discovered revelation.

Parents, after decades of known fluctuating teenage pregnancy rates in America and with disregard that some parents who have children that idolized Miss Spears were teenage parents themselves, are told to sit their children down and "begin" to discuss with them the consequences of premarital sex and use of contraceptives.

It seems when a white girl commits an act that is unorthodox it drives people into a frenzy and into action.

Yes pretty white girls become pregnant too. I know that we all would like to believe they are innocent as they look but the truth is, they are not. The true victims are her fans.

What role models do these girls and boys have in this society? What message does she send or any celebrity for that matter that has made premarital sex and children before marriage systematic? Children should know that these actions should not be imitated and doesn't reflect sensible behavior.

It takes Miss Spears to initiate a vital conversation about sex between parent and child. What differentiates Jaime Lynn from other famous teenage mothers such as Solange Knowles and Fantasia? Perhaps it is because she aimed at children specifically girls ages 8-14 on a children's network.

It's sad that it takes a famous teenager getting pregnant to make (some) parents want to take part in their childrens lives and teach them about sex. I agree with so many points that you made in this article. We tend to put certain individuals in this category of do gooder, and often fail to realize that they are human and go through the same issues the rest of us have in life. loved it!!!!!
