The critics hate National Treasure: Book of Secrets. This will come as no surprise to those whose jaws hung open after reading three straight glowing reviews of the Bored of the Rings cinematic cures for insomnia. Critics these days seem to know even less about what makes a movie tick than critics of the past. Is National Treasure: Book of Secrets of a masterpiece? Of course, not; Jerry Bruckheimer was involved with it, for God's sake. Jerry Bruckheimer and masterpiece are two words that will never been seen together in any sentence other than one like this sentence you are now reading. Roger Ebert, who probably should have retired long before his debilitating illness, writes that those who are expecting logic should check their brains at the door. It is obvious from those words that Roger Ebert has confused National Treasure: Book of Secrets with filmmaking. It is not a movie. It is a video game; a medium where logic is generally viewed with Cheney-like suspicion.

theres plenty of video games with good enough stories to be movies not all of them are just about missions for example anyone ever play either resident evil one two or three(the only decent ones in the entire series) very cool story and a great gaming experience although, in my opinion was completely massacred when made into a movie though that was more a fault of crappy writing and interpretation of the story i still think if done right a game could be a good movie

Wow, my thoughts as I was sitting in the theater were exactly, "This is like a video game." With the puzzles and what-not. I found it to be thin and undeveloped, but since I like video games, mildly entertaining. By the way, have you ever read, "I hated hated hated this movie" by Roger Ebert...you would enjoy it.
