Why?

Why are there rainbows in the sky?
Why are there lovers who pass me by?
Why do the skies way up above
Deny my plea for someone to love?
"Why", I ask myself each night,
"Do the stars seem to be so bright?"

Lately now I often go
And watch the flowers in my garden grow.
But now I know why I'm all alone:
If I just had a girl my blues would be gone.
I hope I find her before too late:
If only she'll come so we can date.

I've found a girl, I know at last.
A Hawaiian girl (she's just a lass).
