These years are surely flying
I sit here and sip my breath

Looking before
You were Loki playing pranks
I was Horace, Latin poet
Scribbling in my journal

That day of you standing on top of my car laughing in the wind!

These years are surely flying
I sit here staring at all these books

One for each year
We're up to 28 in some cases
In others only 9 or 10

That day of you standing on top of my car laughing in the wind!

Looking before
You were Milton speaking accentuated
I was Christina Rossetti
Feeling the world passing away

These years are surely flying
I sit here and sip my breath
