To my delight this week I was given a belated Hanukkah gift. It was a purse hanger, but I had never seen one and had no idea what to do with it.

It is a gold-colored metal circle with a gray sponge-like backing. It has gold colored metal to one side of it and then another piece adjoining it. These are on a pivot so it can turn. The metal extends out about an inch. Then it has a bend and comes straight down for about 3 inches. It then has a final bend with a piece of metal that goes underneath it and measures around 1 and a quarter inches. It is very difficult to explain but I will have a photograph of it with this review.

The metal circle is so beautiful. The inside has stones that look like diamonds. Then there are silver colored leaves and patterns in a star shape. There is a deep blue/black around these. The edge has the gold color and diamond looking stones.

The person giving the present to me was not the lady who purchased it. In fact she showed her how it worked so she in turn could show me.

This was completely flat in the box. She took it out and held the gold colored circular top and the rest of the metal swung underneath it. She then put in on the edge of the restaurant table. It held really firm. My purse or handbag as I call it is really heavy. I got the handle of it and put in on the bottom piece of metal that now was under the table. My purse strap stayed on it and it held. Wow, I couldn't believe how much weight this little item could support.

A couple of days ago we went to our Christmas party and I had a small evening bag. There was very little room on the table and as it was velvet I didn't want to put it where it might get wet or food on it. From out of my purse came the purse hanger and I had it secured for the evening.

As this little beauty folds flat it can be put in the smallest of purses or handbags. Everyone that has seen it wants one.

I have found out that they can be purchased from www.pursejewelry.com. The price for mine was $8.95. If you go to the website there are also key finders too that attach to your purse.

Shannon, Do they wouldn't but I bet you could use them if the bathroom has anything with a lip on it.

Great idea! Do they work on vertical surfaces (like bathroom doors)?
