Poppycock Chocolate Lovers is a delicious blend of almond, pecan and popcorn clusters drizzled with milk chocolate and a tasty glaze.

Even though I am very health conscious and I watch what I eat most of the time, I cannot help the fact that I have a sweet tooth. When a piece of cheese or fruit simply won't help overcome the craving for something sweet, then only a sweet snack will do.

Well Priced

While visiting my local Big Lots recently, I came across a 269g (9.5oz) tub of Poppycock Chocolate Lovers for just $3.00. I actually thought that the selection of nuts was completely covered in chocolate. I failed to pay attention to the fact that this is a popcorn product. But from what I could see, the product looked tempting, so I bought a tub.

Taste

When I got home and opened the tub, I was surprised to find popcorn clusters with almonds and pecans. There was some chocolate, and it was drizzled over the top of the popcorn and nuts, rather than coating the popcorn and nuts completely. I did not mind this. Poppycock Chocolate Lovers was delicious. It was hard to put the tub down.

Nutrition Information

Even though this is a great tasting snack that is hard to put down, it is not amongst the healthiest of snacks on the market. Each 32g (1/2 cup serving) contains 150 calories, 3.5g of saturated fat, less than 5mg of cholesterol, 95mg of sodium, 1g of fibre, 15g of sugar and 2g of protein. The saturated fat content is very high and this can make it hard to cut back on fat if you are on a low fat diet. The sugar content is also rather high and would therefore make this an unsuitable snack for diabetics.

Allergy Warning

Poppycock Chocolate Lovers is produced on the same assembly line as peanuts, cashews, walnuts, pistachios, hazel nuts, macadamia nuts wheat. It also contains milk soya, almonds and pecans. If you are allergic to any of these ingredients, it is best to avoid buying this product.

Recommendation

I found Poppycock Chocolate Lovers to be a great tasting snack. It tasted delicious and the combination of buts, popcorn and chocolate worked well together. I would recommend this snack as an occasional treat after a meal.
