Since we've got a lot of ground to cover, I won't waste time with unnecessary introductions. In this article you'll find a quick capsule review of every download available for the Wii Virtual Console as of Xmas 2007 in alphabetical order, along with a simple Great / Mediocre / Bad recommendation.

If you're interested in longer reviews of these games with screenshots and gameplay videos, check out Plato's Cavern.

Actraiser - A very unique combination of Simcity and Castlevania gameplay with fantastic music, in which a god tries to restore the human population to a world overrun by demons. Short and not too difficult, but a great experience. GREAT

Adventure Island - Simplistic arcade-style action with colorful graphics, a pudgy islander runs and jumps over enemies and obstacles to resuce his girlie. Gets old fast. MEDIOCRE

Adventures of Lolo - A block-pushing puzzle game that somewhat recalls Zelda dungeons of all things. A nice little brain exercise but not too exciting. MEDIOCRE

Air Zonk - Caveman of the future flies around blasting colorful enemies in this lighthearted shooter. Pretty good gameplay, but it gets old fast. MEDIOCRE

Alex Kidd In The Enchanted Castle - Sega's attempt to clone Mario doesn't quite cut the mustard, with slippery play control and annoying games of rock-paper-scissors. MEDIOCRE

Alien Crush - This is a pretty fun pinball game with an H.R. Geiger theme, but there's only one table. MEDIOCRE

Alien Soldier - Frantic and difficult thrill ride from cult developers Treasure, this is quite fun despite it's high difficulty. GREAT

Alien Storm - Low quality port of a mediocre Sega arcade game. Removes the camp and cheese that made the arcade version fun, and the graphics are ugly. BAD

Altered Beast - Horrid side-scrolling fighting game that could probably be called the first shovelware title. BAD

Art of Fighting - A stiff old fighting game that nevertheless has appealing large sprites and can be a little fun to play. Outstripped by many other Neo Geo fighting games however. MEDIOCRE
