There's a myriad of holiday greetings during this 2007 Christmas celebration. Public figures around the world go to great lengths to extend their heartfelt best wishes to people who are interested in celebrating (vicariously) with them. From Barney the Scottish Terrier to Her Majesty, The Queen, the internet brings the world to our doorstep. Here's a review of some interesting sites where you might find a bit of holiday cheer from your virtual dashboard...

Let's start up top with Queen Elizabeth. As my husband always says, "She's a Good ole Judy," meaning that she works very hard to lead her country well. She jumped into the royal fray at a young age, after her father died. Traditionally, Her Majesty offered her holiday greetings and cheer via radio, television, and the Internet. The Official Website of the British Monarchy is always a good bet at www.royal.gov.uk and the site offers the opportunity to sign up a podcast of Her Majesty's address. This year marks the 50th anniversary of her reign, and Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth will be seen on You Tube! The Associated Press reports that sometime on Sunday, December 23rd, the Palace started up The Royal Channel. Right now you can watch the Queen's first video address at http://www.youtube.com/theroyalchannel which was recorded back in 1957 for television. The site notes, "The Christmas Broadcast or 'Queen's Speech' for 2007 will appear on this channel at approximately 3pm GMT on Christmas Day." Just subtract 5 hours for your basic Eastern Standard and you can open your Christmas Day with a 10 a.m. view of the Royal Family. Recent broadcasts include a nice look into the royal family itself, Buckingham Palace, and often a serious perspective on the year's events, sorrows, and achievements. The Queen is an accomplished public speaker. She traditionally sports lovely holiday "togs" and outstanding jewelry. Word has it that the collection is extensive!
