Let's be honest. Watching viral videos has become a passion for some of us. We love seeing the odd, embarrassing, humorous and creative. Sites like YouTube and others provide us with a daily fix of such offerings and some have garnered worldwide notice, although the majority of us would rather see one of them, than be in one of them.

Five viral videos that got considerable play in 2007 were:

Miss South Carolina Teen USA (YouTube)

It's was hard to watch this video of young South Carolina beauty Lauren Caitlin Upton, as she launched into an air-headed response to a question posed to her during the 2007 Miss Teen USA pageant. She was asked why she thought so many Americans were not able to find the United States on a map and, instead of trying to come up with a vague, but reasonable answer, she began a mindless explanation of why "U.S. Americans" lacked in map-reading skills. She later tried to excuse her lapse of mental clarity by saying that she was nervous and claiming that she was really a good student in school, but the damage was done.

Obama Girl (YouTube)

I am pretty certain that Mrs Barack Obama was not particularly amused by this sensual music video homage to her hubby. A lot of other people, though, were. The bikini-clad female star of the video declared her fascination with the Presidential candidate in "I Got a Crush on Obama." It was clever, fresh and, of course, contrived, but entertaining enough to get its creators a lot of hits and big media attention.

Vote Different (YouTube)

While I am on the topic of viral videos about Presidential candidates, 2007 was the year that this amazingly creative take on the famous 1984 Apple Super Bowl commercial caused a stir among both Hilary's critics and supporters. The video's creator-another Obama fan- edited the original version of the ad by putting in a Big Brother-like image of Clinton, making anyone who followed her come across as being brainwashed.
