From its Natural Instincts line, Shine Happy is a clear shine treatment that is supposed to leave your hair shiny for up to six weeks. It comes in a bright shiny gold box that is bound to catch your eye. It also says it is for color treated or non treated hair.

I went online first to check reviews. Most weren't good, some were downright angry. Seems this has a tendency to bleach out your hair a bit, especially if you have highlights. Well I don't have highlights, and my normal hair color is generally pretty dark, so I wasn't too worried.

I mixed the bottles like directed, as it looked strangely like hair dye that I'd use. Except this was gray and a bit runnier. I had to leave a window open as even though there wasn't any ammonia in it, the peroxide didn't make a great scent for it. It says to leave it on for 10 minutes. I took off my latex gloves and waited.

After rinsing I did notice one thing, and shine wasn't it. My hair was slightly lighter in places, places where my hair generally is lighter from the sun. There was no shine at all. In fact the only plus to this entire process was that it came with a tube of the Clairol Color Seal Conditioner. And this stuff retails for $9.99? No way.

Clairol Nice & Easy Color Seal is used as the after conditioner. The scent too is lovely, a warm rich tropical feel to it with citruses and coconut. This is the same conditioner they put in their hair color kits and that they are now going to sell as its own product.

Check over the ingredients at the bottom of this review to make sure that you aren't going to be allergic or get some sort of reaction to it. I know some people are highly sensitive to things like that, and this isn't marked as "for sensitive skin" or anything "-free" either. Plus the activating creme has hydrogen peroxide in it, so watch out for unintended bleaching affect.
