Love hurts, so they say, and never is that saying more appropriate than if you're in love with a married man - or woman! Loneliness, heartache and sadness doesn't begin to cover what you'll experience in your role as the other woman - or man. Whether you fell in love with the guy before discovering he was married, or you knew his marital status all along, get ready for a roller coaster ride of emotions and upset. You'll hate him and love him, you'll hate yourself and you'll hate her. At the same time you'll know in your heart that things just aren't right.
Think he'll leave her for you? Think again! Although some married men do leave their wives, and take up with the new woman, for the most part, the man is just playing around and will likely stay with his wife - paricularly if he has kids with her.
Some men get bored with the same ol' woman, and they have affair after affair, but when it's said and done, he'll generally go back home to his family. One reason is that it's easier to have affairs, then return to the wife, than it is to leave and start all over again. Another reason is that the man never intended to find another wife. They simply wanted to have other women but without the commitment.
Think he'll be spending Christmas with you? New Year's? Not likely! Most married guys will attend holiday functions with their wives and leave you at home alone, wishing you could see him. While he's out hugging and kissing the wife, you're at home hugging your pillow, and that's not apt to change no matter which holiday it is.
Okay, he'll probably be able to take you out every once in awhile, but don't count on hin spending the night, since his absense could be a red flag to wifey. He won't want to risk that! He may be able to buy you an occasional gift, too, but trust me, the wife is getting an even better gift. Many cheating guys feel guilty and try to find peace with it by offering gifts to the wife.
