Pages of History: The Wiccan Rede
The poem first appeared in full in the Ostara 1975 issue of Green Egg magazine, though quotes made by known pagans previous to that date might be construed as making reference to it.
According to Lady Gwen Thomson (Lady Gwynne), the source of the text in this form, the Rede was passed on to her by her grandmother, who left this world in 1946. Since Lady Thomson has also passed on, in 1986, it is unlikely that the accuracy of this claim can ever be verified, one way or the other. Here it is, as it was then:
