If you are creative and enjoy crafting and sewing, I have a great idea for all of you Red Hatters. For a unique gift for your next Red Hat Gift Exchange, a Door Prize or personally, for any Red Hatter who likes to add a little spice to your accessories, make a bra purse. Red Hat Bra purses are so cute and you can let your creative juices flow.

Making a basic bra purse is not that hard, and even if you can't sew, if you own a glue gun, you can make one. All it takes is a little ingenuity and an eye to pick out the correct colors! Red Hat bra purses are a hot item, right now.

Your basic materials should include:

Bra in appropriate color (sturdy, heavily padded bras work the best)

Assorted trims in colors of your choice

Scissors

Thread in matching colors

Long, heavy Needle

Safety Pins

Hot glue gun and glue sticks, optional

The first step in creating a bra purse is to cut the straps from the top cups and back ,carefully cut the cups out individually. Save the straps, you can use them for the handle/handles on your finished purse. After you have successfully and carefully separated the cups, you can begin your Red Hat Bra Purse.

Line the cups up with right sides facing outward. These will be the basic structure of your purse, the "sides" of the basic Red Hat bra purse. Once you have the sides lined up you can pin and then sew around the entire side/bottom edges, leaving the top portion open so you can put things into your Red Hat bra purse. If you don't want to take the time to sew, you can always plug in the hot glue gun and hot glue in a similar manner.

Once the basic form of the Bra purse is formed, the fun begins. Using all of the trims you purchased, you can sew or hot glue all of the fringe, silk flowers, beads, ruffles, ribbon and bows. This is extremely fun, using your imagination to create a one of a kind Red Hat bra purse.

Once you have completed the decorating part of your purse, it is time to add the handle so you can carry it. I like using the cut off bra strap/straps as the handle for the bra purse, but you could also use cording or anything, in the appropriate color. To make your purse less fragile, I would suggest sewing these on for more stability.

Making a Red Hat Bra Purse is a great way to use your creativity.
