Have you had the same hairstyle for a very long time? If so, then it may be time for a change. What better way to start out the New Year than with a new hairstyle? Since you are an individual, one of the best things that you can do is start the New Year with a hairstyle that you like or will feel comfortable wearing. However, if you like others, you may want to consider following one of the latest hairstyle trends. Here, we will take a much closer look at some of the hairstyles that you may want to consider starting the New Year out with.

Start the New Year With a Bob Hairstyle

The bob was a very popular hairstyle during 2007 and it is likely that it will remain a popular hairstyle during 2008. It has been sported by many celebrities, including Victoria Beckham and Katie Holmes. One of the great things about the bob is the fact that there are many ways to individualize it. To read more about the different variations of the bob hairstyle, please click here. In order to make the bob a more personal hairstyle, you can also choose to add bangs - or choose not to add them!

Start the New Year With a Layered Hairstyle

One of the best things about a layered hairstyle is that it will probably never go out of style. Whether you opt for a short, medium or long layered hairstyle, your hairstyle will always be very trendy. One of the best things about layered hairstyles is that they tend to make certain face shapes look a lot slimmer. Layered hairstyles also add more body to your hair, which may make it easier for you to style.

Start the New Year with a Short Hairstyle

In order for you to have a short trendy hairstyle this year, you don't need to opt for the bob. Any short hairstyle should go over well during 2008, mainly because many of the celebrities are currently wearing their hair fairly short. It really does not matter what short hairstyle you decide on for the New Year. The most important thing is for you to be entirely comfortable with it. Short, choppy layers and bangs are definitely going to be trends seen in 2008.

Does bed head count? Seriously, this is something I've wanted to do (new hairstyle). A layered hairstyle sounds appealing.

Great article Jody! My hair is waist-length and curly. I don't want to change that, but maybe some highlights with natural dyes would be suiting. I do need a change. :-)

I got my hair cut short a couple of months ago and am very happy I did. Going again to get it cut on Thursday but it's cheap in Thailand - only $4 a haircut and it's perfect every time :-) Good article.
