When winter weather starts to dissolve, the thoughts of many college students turns towards spring break. This annual tradition is a rite of passage for thousands of college students across the country, and every year it seems as though there are certain areas that attract the most attention. One of those areas that has a long-standing tradition for spring break travelers is Panama City, Florida.

Panama City is quickly becoming a favorite among those looking for a relaxing Spring Break vacation with lots of things to do. The area has been named as one of the top 10 spots for Spring Break vacationers around the world. With that many people heading to the area, what is it about Panama City that makes it such a hot spot for Spring Break travelers?

Maybe it's the beaches. Panama City is home to over 27 miles of sandy beaches, and those beaches have more than enough activities to keep everyone occupied. Take a look at the MTV cameras littering the Boardwalk Beach Resort, or one of the karaoke set ups. There's also dozens of contests held every day right on the beach, from wet tee-shirt contests for the men, to hard body contests for the women. Then there's the concerts that appear right on the beach every day. You might see a well known act preform, or find yourself in the middle of the next big thing.

Those looking for something a little more laid back can try a quick pick up game of Frisbee on the beach, or join in on a volleyball game. These games start at random times of day and night, and it's pretty easy to join in, even if you've never met the organizers before. Or why not kick back with an icy cold beer right on the beach? Simply grab your friends and a picnic basket full of food and find a nice spot to kick back and relax.

Also the high schoolers who will be coming to PCB will need to know about swimming, lifeguards, and rip currents. Beach week can be a death trap.

You talked about evereything except swimming in the gulf. You need to explain the flag system and all about rip currents that can kill. My son drown in 1995 at PCB. There are not any surf lifeguards. So please tell everyone about everything and not just about the fun.
