Canbide's Denver location has several issues with its repair, purchasing, personnel departments and its distributors. I will discuss each department separately so that all of the issues are covered. I will also make recommendations as to how Canbide should deal with these issues. Canbide needs to ge
t these issues resolved if it wants to keep all of its customers and increase profitability.

Carbide's Denver location currently has several issues but we will first discuss this one: "Distributors are accumulating copiers at their locations until they physically run out of room then ship the entire quantity." (Task List, 2006) First of all, Canbide can't control how the distributors manage their company. However, Canbide can control when they want and will receive their shipments from the distributors. Canbide should set up a schedule that will be convenient for them to receive the copiers and such so that there is a more organized approach. This will also eliminate hiring part-time employees to handle the temporary surges of work loads.

The second issue Canbide has been dealing with is the repair department being out of control. There is no need for Canbide to order products that they will not use. To eliminate ordering products that won't be utilized I suggest going over the orders from the previous year to determine what products will be needed for the upcoming year. Even if they have a few parts extra, this will eliminate the waiting period for more parts and enable the employees to resale all of the copiers sooner. Scheduling also comes into play here in that Canbide needs to call its distributors to set up drop-off times periodically and not all at once. The periodical drop off times will allow the workers to work on a certain amount of copiers instead the copiers piling up and risking the 7 day deadline. Once the drops off times are established, Canbide should see a dramatic effect scheduling will have on the entire company.
