Canbide's facilities in Oregon, S, T, and P, are currently on the decline because of lack of supervisors. The only supervisor available is supposed to plan, organize, lead and coordinate all of the three departments within the S facility. The other two facilities, T and P, are doing much better than the S facility but still need to make a few changes. I will make a few recommendations for all three facilities but concentrate on the S facility since it is the one with the most issues.

There are three departments consisting of stamping, molding, and assembly located at the S facility. This facility has several issues that need to be acknowledged in order for the S facility to become more organized and productive. The foundation of changes will start with the supervisor then move on to the staff, then equipment.

Here are a few issues the supervisor from the S facility is experiencing. Supervisors need the proper training in order to plan, organize, lead and coordinate their staff, which this supervisor is lacking. The supervisor is working overtime trying to complete various projects that are overdue. The supervisor must be able to manage their life before they manage their employees. I purpose Canbide find the funds to hire two additional supervisors so the stamping, molding, and assembly departments all have their own supervisor or promote from within. There is too much of a workload for one supervisor to manage all three departments. Once the supervisors are settled into their new positions I suggest they set up a meeting time every week to discuss important issues that affect all three departments. This will allow input from other supervisors which will lessen the lack of social environment also. All of the supervisors will have the opportunity to learn from one another. If additional training is needed however, the supervisors should be given the opportunity to attend additional classes.
