Ultra-portable speaker system for iPod and other MP3 players

The Orbit speaker only comes with the speaker, a 3.5mm to 2.5 mm adapter and instructions. The speaker is an inch tall and about three and a half inches across with a nine inch audio cable. The cable wraps around the base of the speaker and is held for storage in a rubber encased slot on the side.

Inside the Orbit speaker is just one speaker and of course the batteries and a small circuit board but it does sound very good for that one speaker. The clear sound you get is nice and all the songs I listened to sounded very good. This did sound as good as the two laptop speakers I tried out, both an Acer and a HP with the Altec Lansing speaker system. The single speaker does not get the convenient surround type sound but it does good for being one speaker.

The single speaker puts out very clear sound but does not give you much bass so the unit is kind of limited. It works perfectly for that portable situation where you want a speaker but need a smaller one that does not require external power. The Orbit uses three AAA batteries and lasts a really long time by itself. The company says it lasts for 24 hours of play time and I can believe it.
