Nintendo DS Lite Game: Disney Princess Magical Jewels

The Disney Princess Magical Jewels game cartridge allows a young Nintendo DS Lite game player to control the four Disney Princesses, as they explore an enchanted land for magic jewels. Each princess is tasked to collect the missing magical jewels, and they restore the them to the crown. As the jewels are restored to the crown, magic power is restored to the kingdom, and the Golden Castle is rebuilt. Once all of the jewels are collected, the Evil Queen can then be banished from the kingdom forever. Besides collecting jewels, the princess searches for lost treasure and items. Once the item or treasure is found, these items are then restored to different characters that live in the kingdom.

There are four princesses to choose from. They are: Snow White, Belle, Aurora, and Cinderella. In addition, there is a little helper called the magical Spryte. Spryte is able to fly to different levels of the kingdom, above and ahead of the kingdom to look for signs of danger. Spryte also can search areas in the kingdom that the princess may not be able to reach. The character is also very helpful in solving portions of the enchanted maze.

Game Play
There are two modes of play in the game, single player and multi-player. In the single player mode you can search for missing jewels, play the Spryte Action Challenge, or repair the golden Castle using the the jewels. In multi-player mode, there are two additional modes of play. These allow you to control two princesses that are not in single player mode. The two additional games are Jasmine's mini-game and Ariel's Mini-game.

Game play is very intuitive. The designers had the young player in mind when they created the game. This game was given to a four year old Disney fan in my family and it has given her hours of enjoyment. An important note to make here is that she is a big fan of the Disney Princess movies, so it was not a real surprise that she has latched onto the game as her favorite.
