Los Angeles, CA - Barron Hilton, Paris Hilton's grandfather, announced yesterday that he will be leaving 97 percent, or 2.3 billion dollars (Daily News) of his money to charity.

By some accounts, this leaves heiress and Hollywood bad girl Paris Hilton with a mere $5 million inheritance. Different news outlets have calculated Paris Hilton's inheritance loss to be as high as $100 million (Daily News).

The remaining three percent of the inheritance, about $69 million will be split among Barron's heirs, including Paris Hilton, according to People.com

Barron Hilton

Barron Hilton, 80, is the son of the founder of the Hilton Hotel Chain.

According to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, Barron Hilton, Chariman of the foundation, will be " contributing approximately $1.2 billion of proceeds from the sale of Hilton Hotels Corporation and the pending sale of Harrah's Entertainment into a charitable remainder unitrust that will eventually benefit the foundation."

The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation

With the Barron Hilton contribution, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation will be valued at $4.5 billion, according to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation

Conrad N. Hilton, established the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation in 1944. Conrad N. Hilton who purchased his first hotel in 1919 (Conrad N. Hilton Foundation), grew the Hilton hotel business to become and internationally known hotel chain.

When he died in 1979, the "bulk of his estate" was given to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. The Conrad N. Hilton Foundation gives to diverse causes including blindness, Catholic Sisters, domestic violence, early childhood development, homelessness, hotel restaurant management education, substance abuse, and water development.

Now his son, Paris Hilton's grandfather, Barron Hilton is following suit.

"Working to alleviate human suffering around the globe, regardless of race, religion or geography, is the mandate of the foundation set by my grandfather, Conrad Hilton, and now reinforced by my father, Barron Hilton," Steven M. Hilton, President and CEO of the foundation said in a statment. (Conrad N. Hilton Foundation)

I personally would love to see the girl actually have to work for a living. She might learn something.

She will probably just marry some idiot for their money now, lol. Happy New year!

contrast to Ivanka Trump. Paris never had any class, she looks like a dime store beauty queen one hallway rimp away from the trailer park. If I were here I'd spend that money on plastic surgery.

To bad it can't all be used to feed the hungry!

I think charity deserves it a heck of a lot more than she does anyway. Great article!

Now maybe she'll write a few articles here on how to "live on a budget" of 5 million. You think? (;

Paris Hilton and that Britney Spears should not be idolized and should not be watched on TV by some young kids out there... they are not a good example to them. Really, the whole world is very, very happy with this announcement about Paris "bitch" Hilton...

Oh well, she deserve this...She's a spoiled brat.

P.S. Perhaps the "announcement" was made to shake up Hilton. Has this gone beyond the announcement stage? I hope so! Good article!

While it may be a shock to Hilton, many people would manage 5 million dollars quite well and even manage to make it grow and have enough left over to tithe or give to charity without living a miserable, poverty-stricken existence. I hope this gives her perspective! Of course, compared to many of her rich friends, she'll be considered poverty-stricken in THOSE circles. Maybe she'll discover a nicer, less materialistic group of people. This could be her saving grace, losing this money.

Great job reporting this! I doubt that she needs the money, with her CD, perfumes, clothing line and occassional acting.

I think Paris Hilton should be thankful that she is receiving anything at all. She already has her foot in the golden pot. All she needs to do is manage her money better and make wise investments.
