A garage is a luxury to those who park outside in all types of weather, and a carport can be just as beneficial. A shelter will cover a vehicle and almost eliminate the need for scraping ice and brushing snow from windows, and it provides valuable protection from rain and the harmful rays of the sun. The garage is obviously the better option since in addition to the benefits of an open shelter, items can be safely stored inside, but unfortunately a garage isn't always affordable or practical. Surprisingly, a carport has many benefits over a garage, and if you're considering one or the other, the following information will point out many of the benefits of choosing an open shelter instead of a garage. A garage might be sturdier and more secure, but a carport has many more benefits that a garage doesn't offer, and maybe you haven't considered the fantastic benefits of choosing a portable shelter instead of choosing a garage.
Affordability
A basic garage costs thousands of dollars, but a basic shelter that's sturdy and high in quality and craftsmanship can be purchased for just hundreds of dollars. If you're thinking of saving money toward the purchase of a garage or taking out a loan your really can't afford, consider a carport instead of a garage. An affordable shed can used to secure and store yard tools and other outdoor items, and a carport will protect your vehicle and cost thousands less.
Placement
A metal shelter is portable, but obviously a garage can't be easily moved or repositioned if you change your mind. Alternate placement is one of the greatest benefits of having a carport. Best of all, you can disassemble a portable shelter and take it along if you decide to move, and it's a desirable item that's negotiable when selling a home. It's possible to move a garage, but it isn't practical or feasible in most situations.
Convenience

The Benefits of a Carport Instead of a Garage
If you can afford a garage and don't mind the inconveniences involved in the building process, by all means choose a garage, but a carport has many benefits you might have never considered.
