It seems I was not the only person who had a bad year in 2007. I just viewed a You Tube Video by someone who wanted to strangle the year 2007, if that were at all possible. Personally, I would like to strangle 2007 and kick 2006. People I know are choosing new years resolutions with big sweeping changes. Others are looking for ways to party hard on New Years Eve 2007 to start the New Year with a bang. Yes, 2007 was a bad year, but instead of wallowing in the misery of the bad year, I plan to say goodbye to it gracefully and start the next year on the right foot. Decide what made last year so unbearable this past year: For some it was money problems. This is easy enough to figure out. For other years, the problem was with relationships. Some people though, are not quite able to put a finger on what made them so miserable. If you found yourself sad, lonely, or otherwise unhappy this past year, the problem could be emotional or chemical. You may want to consult with a counselor or psychiatrist.
Resolve to take no abuse in the New Year. Often, the actions of other people are what make us miserable. Even worse than taking abuse from others is the misery, we feel when we continually let others walk all over us. This year, it is time to proclaim you will not allow any abusive or otherwise toxic people in your life this year. Yes, it is time to clean your friendship closet. There may be people who have to go.
Resolve to change your attitude this year. For many of us, how we react to trials and tribulations have compounded our misery. Resolve to start seeing your glass half empty instead of half full and you will feel richer. Resolve to not react when someone gets under your skin and they give up trying to bug you. Resolve to have a better self-image and you may find self-love, or even romantic love.
