With all of the home fragrances available now, I decided to give this product a try. I have always used the aerosol type air freshner and thought to myself that by using this product, I would not have to worry with keeping my house fresh smelling since this product would do it for.

The Air Wick Freshmatic Automatic Spray is a time-released fragrance product that is supposed to leave a subtle aroma which you can notice each time you walk into your home. There are three aroma levels that you choose from on how often you want the burst of fragrance sprayed. You can set the timer to poof out some fragrance every six minutes, every sixteen minutes and the last one is a maximum of thirty minutes.
I went to the local Wal Mart and purchased the product and got back to my home with excitement and placed the fragrance unit on the wall in my kitchen, set the timer the first day on six minutes. I tried the next setting of sixteen minutes after the fourth day and left the fragrance level on sixteen for three or four days, and by that time I was not convinced totally about this product and what it says it does. So I placed the level on the thirty six minute level and left it there until the can of fragrance it comes with ran out.

I was not all that impressed with this product, although when the timer did spray the fragrance out, my home did have a nice aroma but I was only able to smell any scent at all if the central air or heat unit was on at the same time the burst of fragrance came out. Any other time when I would walk through my front door from being outside, I would never smell an aroma of fragrance.

There are several fragrant aromas to choose from: Papaya and Mango, Sparkling Citrus, Fresh Water, Spring Blossom and my favorite, Lavender. I have used the lavender and the sparkling citrus as well as the spring blossom. The spring blossom was a quite a bit overwhelming and stronger than the other two I had tried. You do have to purchase refill canisters. One can lasted me for almost two months. They cost $ 5.49 at Wal Mart. The product itself which mounts onto a wall, costs around $ 9.00. Just depends on where you choose to purchase it at.

Like Charlotte Kuchinsky said, this works best in small areas. I am currently deployed to Iraq (everything outside smells bad which of course makes our rooms smell bad) and our 2 person rooms are roughly the size of a average dining room. I have one of these as do a few other guys on my team and they do an amazing job at keeping our rooms smelling fresh. Anytime I come into my room all I smell is awesome fragrance. I will most likely not use it when I get back home because it probably would not work well freshening a house unless you had 3-4 or more of these in various places going off at different times, however it is a MUST for Iraq.

I wondered about this product. I doubted my home would smell "fresh" for very long with just a spray now and then. Thanks for the detailed review!

I actually love mine. It works perfectly for my small apartment. Maybe that is the difference.

I agere with you, I don't like this product because it does not last long enough to offset the cost.

I love home fragrances, but they have to have a strong enough scent to be noticed. Thanks for the heads up on this!
